Leah Kelly, makeup artist, applying makeup to a woman with long dark hair while seated in a makeup chair in a room with dark walls and furniture.

Hi, I’m Leah.

Since 2020, when just before the global pandemic I made a dramatic career pivot, I have been privileged to make hundreds of women look and feel amazing, often as part of some of the most special moments in their lives.

I trained as a makeup artist at The Central School of Makeup in Birmingham travelling from the North East because I wanted to learn from the very best. My only regret is not starting sooner.

Over the past six years, I’ve continued to invest in my education, refining my skills and staying up to date with the latest techniques. I’m truly passionate about ensuring when I hand you the mirror, you look and feel your most beautiful and confident self.

As a woman in her 40s, I am an expert on mature skin and using skin care and makeup to enhance and correct subtly to bring back your ‘glow’. My oldest client so far has been a beautiful 90 year old which proves beauty is truly ageless.

I’m also known for my calm and friendly presence, especially valued by my bridal clients on their wedding morning. Creating a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere is just as important to me as the final look, and it means so much to be trusted with such an important part of your day.

Outside of makeup, I’m a mum of 2 boys so there’s no one in the house to indulge my love of beauty. On rare weekends off, I love to go hiking and exploring new places. I’m an avid reader, getting through 1 or 2 books a week. My favourites this year so far have been The Names by Florence Knapp, The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden and All The Colours of the Dark by Chris Whitaker. I also love a self development book and podcast and I have a library of beauty and makeup books too. My creative side extends to dressmaking. crochet and embroidery too. I’ve been a vegetarian for 30 years and was diagnosed with coeliac disease 12 years ago so I do a lot of cooking and baking from scratch to make sure I don’t miss out on delicious food.

I also volunteer for Look Good Feel Better, a national charity who run workshops which give practical advice and support to people living with cancer to help them deal with the changes in their appearance throughout their cancer journey.
